The MTBA is happy to share the below note from longtime MTBA volunteer Anthony Salesi in support of Make-A-Wish New Jersey. Please read and share with friends and family, every little bit helps...
Dear Monroe Baseball Family & Friends,
I am writing to ask you to support Make-A-Wish New Jersey, an organization that is very close to my heart. This fall's annual Make-A-Wish New Jersey "Walk For Wishes" will take place on October 15, 2016 at the Samuel and Josephine Plumeri Wishing Place in Monroe Township, NJ! Hundreds of walkers and runners, including me, will be coming together to raise money for Make-A-Wish New Jersey.
Make-A-Wish New Jersey grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, & strength and joy. All proceeds from the 'Walk For Wishes' will provide the resources necessary to ensure that no medically-eligible child in New Jersey goes without a wish... (please click 'Continue' below to read on and for more information on how you can support this great organization)

Donations will also be accepted at the game for both causes.
So come out and cheer (or heckle) your favorite baseball and softball coaches and support these families!
The winning organization gets to keep the coveted Coach’s Cup for the next year! The MTBA has won the past three games, let's keep the cup!

An MTBA family needs our help... Michael Manning is a player in the MTBA and very sadly his father Kevin has been stricken with cancer. Kevin’s final days are upon him, and his wife Cathy has taken an extended leave of absence from teaching to spend what little time Kevin has left to be at home with him. Hospice has started, the medical bills are mounting, and the family has begun the heartbreaking process of planning Kevin's final expenses. While there is certainly no pressure to donate, the MTBA asks our families to open their hearts to the Mannings by making a donation to a Go Fund Me page set up to assist the family; please help out in any way you can:
Cathy and Kevin were blessed to have recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary as well as Michael's 14th birthday (on the same day). Unfortunately they will not be blessed with any more milestones to celebrate together. We ask you all keep Kevin, Cathy and Michael in your prayers and hope that Kevin’s journey home will be as peaceful and kind as he is, and that his family will always feel his love.
[June 7, 2016 -- it is with heavy hearts that we must inform everyone that Kevin Manning passed away; viewing will be on Friday, June 10 at Lester Funeral Home in Jamesburg]
2016 MTBA Scholarships
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL RECIPIENTS!!
Ten senior high school students and members of the MTBA family received scholarships towards continuing their education at the 7th Annual Monroe Twp Recreation Scholarship Awards Ceremony on Monday, May 16, 2016...
The MTBA would like to congratulate two great volunteers, Su and Carl Reiser, in being recognized by the White House with the President’s Volunteer Service Silver Award in recognition of their 9+ years of devotion to the Special Needs children of our town in running Monroe Special Sports.
All on-field volunteers are required to complete a background check per Babe Ruth League rules. Please visit our Health and Safety page for more information and for details on how to submit the necessary info for the check if you plan to volunteer on the field. Note that this is separate from the Rutgers SAFETY certification which is also required to work on the field with the children.
Rec and travel managers need to ensure that anyone they allow to coach or otherwise be on the field or in the dugout with the kids has met both of these requirements; if anyone does not meet either requirement then they cannot be allowed to help on the field.
Support for Mikey Nichols
Please continue to support the recovery efforts of MTHS senior Mikey Nichols; Mikey is a former player and umpire in the MTBA that suffered a very serious injury playing for the Monroe Twp HS Hockey Team on January 4th, 2014.
