Reisers Receive Presidential Award!
Congratulations Su and Carl!!
The MTBA would like to congratulate two great volunteers, Su and Carl Reiser, in being recognized by the White House with the President’s Volunteer Service Silver Award in recognition of their 9+ years of devotion to the Special Needs children of our town in running Monroe Special Sports.
As detailed on the work bond form, refund checks will be issued in person at the September (8th) and October (13th) monthly general membership meetings to those that bring in the completed form and have met the outlined requirements for receiving the refund. In addition, on Saturday, September 26th and Saturday, October 17th you may bring forms to JMP between 10-11:30 AM for processing. DO NOT mail in or leave your form at the rec center; we will not mail refunds! After October 17th we will no longer accept any forms so please make plans to submit your form on one of the above four dates (or send it in with a friend on one of those dates).
PLEASE NOTE: we will no longer be offering the work bond rollover option! It has become an administrative headache so it has been decided to end it. If you had rolled over your work bond from last year to this year then please be sure to bring in a completed form as noted above to receive your refund if you have met the requirements this year.
As noted during the August meeting, nominations for the MTBA Executive Board for fiscal year 2016 will be accepted at the September monthly general membership meeting (September 8th, 7:30 PM at the Rec Center). Nominees must meet the criteria as outlined in the by-laws; voting for the board will take place at the October meeting.
-- all individuals interested in running for a Board Seat and/or voting in elections for Executive Board Seats must be a member in good standing defined as follows (from the MTBA By-Laws):
A voting member is an MTBA member in good standing. A member in good standing is defined as a person who has been in attendance at a minimum of 4 of the last 12 consecutive general membership meetings. In lieu of attending 4 general membership meetings, all Division Directors, Managers and Division Team Parents will receive credit for attendance at one (1) general membership meeting and will only be required to attend three (3) other general membership meetings in order to meet the requirements for voting privileges.
Each officer of the Executive Board must be a member in good standing of this Association for the minimum period of the last fiscal year, must be a resident of the Township of Monroe or any other town included in Monroe’s geographical boundary and must have served the Association in some voluntary position for at least one baseball season. Further, they must be able to execute fully the duties of the Board position they seek to hold. No two (2) members of the Executive Board may be immediate family. Immediate family is defined herein as, spouse, parent, child or sibling.
-- if you are interested in running for a position on the MTBA Executive Board, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know; in addition to or instead of sending an email with your intent, any prospective board member can be nominated at the September meeting by an MTBA member in good standing in attendance at that meeting
-- candidates for Board seats will be announced at the September Monthly General Membership Meeting (September 8th, 7:30 PM at the Rec Center) and elections will take place at the October Monthly General Membership Meeting (October 13th, 7:30 PM at the Rec Center)
-- a term of office on the Executive Board of the Association will run concurrently with the operating fiscal year which runs from November 1st through October 31st (one year) for all Executive Board positions
-- please note, 8 of the 9 current MTBA Board members will be nominated for the Board for the 2016 fiscal year; there will be one vacant Board seat not currently accounted for so at least one new Board Member is needed
